Dalip Tahil Sings For ‘Guru Naam’ Music Album
Album To Commemorate 550th Birth Anniversary Of Shri Guru Nanak
Mumbai: Noted film, television and theatre actor Dalip Tahil is known to juggle many roles. An accomplished singer, he has lent his voice to a prestigious project ‘Guru Naam’ featuring established singers like Sonu Nigam, Padma Shri Kailash Kher, Padma Shri Padmaja Phenany Joglekar and Padma Shri Suresh Wadkar. Composed by Kuldeep Singh the special album brought out by Times Music, will commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Sikh Guru Shri Guru Nanak and will feature verses by Guru Nanak and Namdev. Dalip Tahil has sung a song and his voice also features in the introductory stanzas of the album.
Speaking about the experience of singing for the album, Dalip Tahil says, “It was a surreal experience to record for this very special album on the revered Sikh Guru. The album features verses by Shri Guru Nanak and Namdev in a musical format for the first time. India is known for its vibrant diversity and rich heritage. The album provides a unique opportunity for singers from diverse backgrounds to come together to sing paeans in honour of the revered saint. It sends a message of peace, brotherhood and unity. I am overwhelmed to have got this opportunity to sing for the album alongside such established names from the music industry.”
Dalip Tahil has acted in Amazon Prime’s web series – The Family Man, the second season of which is due to release shortly. Tahil plays a pivotal role in the web action-drama as the Chief of the special cell of the National Investigation Agency. He will also be seen in the second season of the web series – Hostages by Sudhir Mishra. In the previous season Tahil was seen playing the role of the Chief Minister Khushwant Lal Handa. So far, Tahil has featured in five different web series on various OTT platforms including Hotstar, Zee5, Netflix and Amazon to create a record of sorts as one of the first mainstream actors to quickly embrace the Indian web series space. Last year, Tahil was seen in the role of NASA scientist in the Hindi blockbuster film – Mission Mangal.
